Is the pH of Your Drinking Water Healthy?

After oxygen, nothing is more important to your body’s survival than ‘healthy’ water.

But what does ‘healthy’ water mean?

Healthy water means the water has been filtered, is not carbonated, has a pH over 8, and if possible, is ionized.

Water out of our taps, as most people know, is not the purest water to drink, and many large and small corporations alike are taking advantage of that knowledge with the fear they have generated about drinking tap water.

They spend hundreds of millions of dollars yearly spewing out propaganda that your tap water is dangerous to drink. Not true. It is just as safe to drink as theirs.

Bottled water has become a multi-billion dollar business for these corporations and is probably one of the biggest frauds ever perpetrated on an unsuspecting public.

Why? Because most of the bottled water sold is nothing more than filtered tap water and not any better than the water you are now getting out of your tap. In addition, so many of these bottled waters have a low pH as well as a high bacteria count.

There is very little regulation that goes on in the bottled water industry.

The biggest bottlers of water are Coco Cola, Pepsi and Nestles, all of whom fill their bottles with plain ordinary tap water and the price they charge for this water is an incredible rip-off.

Bottled water is bad for another important reason. The plastic used to manufacture the bottles they use is made with a plasticizer that is carcinogenic. Stored in temperatures of 80ºF for any length of time, which happens every summer, this plasticizer leaches into the water. You drink it because you can’t see it or taste it.

Here’s how the pH of the water you drink stacks up:
  • Acidic waters are detrimental to your health (pH 3-6).
  • Neutral waters are neutral to your health (pH 6.5-7.5)
  • Alkaline waters are beneficial to your health (pH 8-10)
Before we continue with water, let me tell you about other beverages that are also consumed in large quantities and are especially bad for your health. They are beverages like Coca-cola, Pepsi-cola and other colas.

Their pH is a super low, 2.3. Now don’t get me wrong, there are good uses for these colas. If you need to clean corrosion off your battery terminals, just pour cola over them. It does an incredible job. I know, I have done this with my battery terminals. Colas are also great if you want to remove varnish from your floor. Does an excellent job there as well.

If you check other sodas, you will find their pH to be in the range of 3, an acid level that does no good for your body.

Being on a bottled water kick can become expensive as well, especially if you are drinking as much water as you should.

A better way is to become your own bottled water producer. Install an under-the-sink water filter and you will do better than the majority of bottled waters being offered, and at a fraction of the cost.

These water filters are available at Home Depot, Lowes, your local hardware store, or you can type in “under-the-sink-water filters” on Google. You will find great selections at all price ranges that will give you better drinking water at a fraction of the cost of bottled water.

For the ultimate in drinking water, go to our web site where we offer counter top and under-the-sink water ionizers. These units will filter and raise the pH of your tap water, ionize your water so that your water will hydrate your body six times faster than regular tap water, and neutralize free oxygen radicals in your body.

To your good health and longevity.

Who Else Wants a Most Remarkable Joint or Muscle Pain Reliever?

Ever suffer from joint or muscle pain? Well here’s a story that will change the way you look at pain relief forever.

This therapy far surpasses any other pain treatment you may have ever heard of. In many instances the pain disappears immediately --- and the pain relief can be permanent!

This is a story about a simple treatment developed by Dr. Frank Shallenberger. A treatment he calls Prolozone therapy which can avoid MRI, surgery, and rehab.

It can heal your torn rotator cuff, knee, hip, back joint pain and stressed ligaments quickly, permanently, and at a fraction of the cost. Even joints that no longer have cartilage.

Actually, let's modify that statement. It is not the Prolozone that does the healing, it is the Prolozone stimulating your body’s defenses to heal itself.

People have avoided knee and hip replacements and the trauma of back surgery by just getting one to four treatments of Prolozone and having 80% or all of the pain disappear immediately with the first treatment.

Prolozone is a modification of the well known treatment called prolotherapy.

Instead of using ingredients like glucose or saline in these painful areas to stimulate healing, Prolozone uses ozone.

The body doesn’t heal joints, ligaments and cartilage very well because, unlike muscles, these areas don’t have a blood supply to bring them oxygen.

Prolozone injections irritate the area just enough to stimulate a temporary blood supply to repair the injury.

To explain the process, the area is first anesthetized with procaine. A pinch of vitamin B12 and folic acid is added to the procaine. These vitamins stimulate the DNA of cells to get in action for a longer term fix. After the procaine, a small amount of oxygen (ozone gas) is injected.

Any area of pain is begging for oxygen because oxygen is the most critical nutrient for energy production and healing. Without it cells cannot repair.

Ozone is a powerful stimulant of cellular growth factors such as Transforming Growth Factor Beta (TGF-B). This powerful cytokine activates cartilage cells to produce matrix proteins necessary for the body to make the white cartilage substance.

Ozone reacts almost instantly with the membranes of the cells it contacts. The oxidation of the membranes jump starts the cells.

When delivered directly to a painful area, the combination of oxygen/ozone provides the stimulation to repair while simultaneously providing the essential oxygen to energize them.

Pain relieving drugs have dangerous side effects. Surgery is always dangerous and can result in long rehabilitation periods and results that are only partially good or temporary.

With Prolozone your body heals itself permanently within weeks, or at the most, a few months. To find a doctor who provides Prolozone treatments, go to: www.oxygenhealingtherapies.com.

Why Are Enzymes, Especially for Digestion, The Foundation for Life?

All living things contain enzymes, whether plant or animal. No enzymes --- no life --- plain and simple.

Practically every chemical reaction in our bodies is a result of enzymatic action. The digestion of our food is mostly dependent on enzymes.

It is not so much how healthy we eat as to how well our food is digested so that we can absorb the nutrients in the food. We can only do that when we have enough enzymes in our digestive system.

Digestion is the first step in transforming food into the living tissues of our bodies and into the fuel needed to keep those tissues functioning. It is here we need to pay particular attention.

It is impossible to be in perfect health with poor digestion.

Why? Because digestion itself refers to the breaking down of food into particles small enough to enter our cells. Absorption, an integral part of digestion, has to do with the transferring of these minute food particles into our circulation so that these food nutrients can be carried to every cell in our body.

Both digestion and absorption are performed by the digestive system.

Where do enzymes come from?

Our body makes many of the enzymes we need to digest our food. Food itself contains enzymes unless we destroy the enzymes through heating or through processing.

Our bodies cannot make all the enzymes it needs to digests its food and must rely on the help it gets from the enzymes in the food we eat.

It is important to know that enzymes are easily destroyed at temperatures beyond 118°F. This is why a diet of mostly processed foods, which is usually heated beyond 118°F, and pasteurized (160ºF) such as milk and juice lead to digestive problems and poor nutrition.

Food with no enzymes is known as dead food.

A good example is the pasteurized orange juice of which we drink tons in this country. Being pasteurized (dead food), all of the enzymes have been destroyed and drinking this juice is like pouring pure acid down your stomach making it difficult for your body to digest.

Fresh squeezed orange juice (live food) is full of enzymes, easily digestible, providing your body with much needed healthy nutrition.

Here are two important questions:
  • Why does poorly digested food have a negative impact on your immune system?
  • Doesn’t poorly digested food just pass through your colon and out as waste?
The surprise answers:
  • When food is not properly digested, we create “digestive luekocytosis” in which your white blood cell count increases after a meal. (White blood cell count is increased to counter the undigested food your body views as an invader.)
  • Because these incompletely digested food molecules are unable to be absorbed through the pores of your intestines into your blood stream, the body then identifies this particulate matter as foreign objects, your immune system forms circulating immune complexes around them. (That’s your immune system’s army surrounding these foreign objects in an attempt to destroy them.) Your immune system now tries to do a job it is not designed to do. It mobilizes white blood cells in an attempt to digest food, stressing your body’s energy and your immune system, doing with great difficulty, what enzymes do very easily and naturally.
It’ a fact, you use 80% of your body’s energy to digest food alone.

With food enzymes present to pre-digest the food, (food that hasn’t been heated or processed) digestive luekocytosis does not occur. Proper digestion now allows your immune system to focus on disease prevention --- rather than digestion.

Eating an abundance of raw food such as mixed greens and fruit will measurably improve your digestion. This is especially true because as you age your body begins making fewer and fewer enzymes and is less tolerant of eating dead food.

The practice of enzyme supplementation is a good one to follow. It is the key to assuring complete digestion, absorption, transportation, and the use of the nutrients you consume.

To further aid the digestive process and to help prevent acid reflux, the enzyme supplements you take should contain betaine hydrochloride.

Curing acid reflux with antacids only makes matters worse long term and further starves your cells of nutrients they need to properly function and keep your body healthy.

Antacids negatively interfere, short circuiting the digestive process, preventing much of your food from being broken down to a particle size your intestines can absorb.

Repairing your digestion with enzyme supplementation, eating at least 50% raw food, and eliminating processed and fried foods from your diet will turn your digestion around quickly and lead you back to a healthy body.

To reinforce that statement, know the fact that enzymes are also responsible for elimination of waste and toxins in your body.

Why Is Omega-3s So Important to Your Brain Health?

There is a direct connection between Omega-3 essential fatty acids and the health of the brain.

Why? Because research is increasingly showing that emotional, mental and psychiatric disorders like depression, bipolar disorder and possibly schizophrenia may more likely be the result of dietary deficiencies than genetic predispositions.

The research also shows that the lack of Omega-3 fatty acids increases memory loss, makes learning new tasks more difficult, increases blue moods and probably promotes the onset of Alzheimer’s disease.

The omega-3 fatty acid known as docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is a fatty acid that is found in high concentration in the gray matter of the brain and is an important ingredient for optimal brain function.

DHA is instrumental in the function of brain cell membranes, which are important for the transmission of brain signals.

By making cell membranes more fluid, omega-3 fatty acids, especially DHA, improves the communication between the brain cells. Lack of omega-3 in the body can cause a communication breakdown in the brain.

Low levels of DHA have been linked to memory loss, depression, bipolar disorder, attention deficit disorder, schizophrenia, autism and general learning difficulties or bad moods.

“If you don't feed brain cell membranes enough of the right type of fat, the messages can be short-circuited and garbled. That may mean a disturbance in mood, concentration, memory, attention, and behavior,” writes Miracle Cures author Jean Carper.

Depression in particular has been frequently linked to low levels of DHA, since omega-3 fatty acids help regulate mood by increasing levels of serotonin, the hormone that relieves depression.

Additional evidence of the vital importance of ingesting sufficient Omega-3 fatty acids was reported by Dr. Michael A. Schmidt who reports in Smart Fats that, according to data collected in the long-term Framingham Heart Study, adults with low levels of DHA have a greater likelihood of developing dementia in their later years.

Other studies have indicated these adults are twice as likely to develop dementia as those with high levels of DHA. And a 1997 study demonstrated that low DHA blood levels are an important risk factor for Alzheimer's disease.

Your body cannot make Omega-3 fatty acids nor can it make Omega 6 which is another essential fatty acid that the body must have to function properly. You can only get these essential fatty acids from food.

Omega-3 fatty acids are the long-chain fatty acids found in fish such as salmon, sardines, and herring. They are also found in flax, walnuts and chia seeds. Unfortunately the western diet does not include an abundance of these foods.

Omega-6, however, is found in abundance in the western diet in such foods as meat, vegetable oils, soy bean oil, vegetable oil based products such as margarine, shortening, and canola oil.

Whereas Omega-3 fatty acids will build brain cells and improve communication between neurons, excess Omega-6 will cause interference in this process and can lead to impairment of the brain and other illnesses.

The ideal balance for good health between Omega-6 to Omega-3 is 1:1 with a tolerable balance of 5:1. The average western diet runs in the unhealthy range of 20:1 6:3 or higher.

To be brain healthy, westerners need to change their eating habits to eat more fish, take pure fish oil supplements, and cutting back on Omega-6 by eliminating refined vegetable oils, canola and soy bean oils from their diets.

DHA Omega-3 remains the most important brain fat throughout life.

It is a proven fact that in aging, the loss of omega-3 fatty acids in the brain may result in a higher risk of stroke, memory problems, or dementia.

Individuals of any age without adequate amounts of omega-3 fatty acids in the brain and body may also be at higher risk for depression, bipolar disorder, and possibly other psychiatric problems.

It is no wonder Omega-3 fatty acid is called essential...especially to your brain health!

Omega-3s and Proven Heart Health

Omega-3 is a special, "essential" unsaturated fat — one our bodies can not make but must have to run well.

Omega-3 fats help build the membranes that surround cells in the body and help make hormones that affect blood clotting and inflammation, according to Harvard University doctors.

The fats play very special roles in babies, lining cells and aiding in the development of brain cells and eyes — which is why Omega 3s are in breast milk and being added to some formulas.

Studies show the fish oils are especially good for the heart, helping prevent deadly rhythm problems and, in high doses, lowering triglycerides — fats circulating in the blood.

"You can take tons and tons of olive oil, and it won't drop your triglycerides," said Mays, who is a board-certified lipidologist, or fats expert. "The omega fats really have a medicinal property that is unique."

The role that the omega-3s plays in heart health is summarized as follows:
  • Lowering of blood pressure
  • Protecting against sudden cardiac death
  • Lowering of blood fat levels (triglycerides)
  • Preventing fatal blood clots
  • Maintaining blood vessel dilation
  • Anti-inflammatory effects such as increasing the plaque stability on artery walls so that they are less likely to rupture
  • Improving the vascular endothelial function
  • Reducing the risk of hardened arteries
  • Improved insulin sensitivity
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, heart disease is the leading cause of death for both women and men in the United States. The great irony is that cardiovascular disease is largely preventable.

There's a simple, proven and easy way to reduce the chance of you becoming part of these grim statistics, and that is to increase your intake of the healthy omega-3 fatty acids.

The research has continued to pour in from countless sources around the world about the amazing benefits of the omega-3's. In fact, scientists and medical professionals alike now agree that the omega-3 fats can prevent – and even reverse - the deadly effects of cardiovascular disease and stroke (the first and third leading causes of death, respectively).

Studies have shown that the Omega-3s may prevent heart attacks because it slows the buildup of plaque in the arteries. When your arteries are free of plaque, your blood is able to flow normally, avoiding heart complications.

Patients who do take Omega-3s and who have suffered from heart attacks seem to suffer heart attacks that are less severe than those who are not taking an Omega 3 supplement at all.

According to two new studies from Munich, Germany, long term use of Omega 3 fatty acids reduced the risk of death and incidence of hospitalization for heart related illness in heart failure patients. On the other hand, Crestor, a popular cholesterol medication (statin), showed no beneficial effect on the patients studied.

Dr Gianni Tognoni (Istituto di Ricerche Farmacologiche Mario Negri, Milan) presented the Crestor treatment findings at the conference, which ultimately showed no difference in outcomes between those who received the statin and those who did not, even though LDL cholesterol levels were lowered with the drug.

Dr. Tognoni suggests… "although statin therapy lowers concentrations of LDL cholesterol, is well tolerated, and seems reasonably safe, it does not produce meaningful improvements in survival in patients with chronic heart failure."

The results are contrary to the current push to provide heart failure patients with statin therapy.

You do not need to become a victim. Omega 3 fatty acids have repeatedly been shown to have a major beneficial effect on heart health. For a longer healthier life, make sure you include fish or Omega 3 fatty acids soft gel capsules into your diet.
